What is Happening at Madison

Dear Madison Families, 
Spring is coming; it is a great time to reflect on Madison's school successes this year!

School Safety
-10 Fire Drills, 4 Duck and Cover Drills, and 4 Lockdown drills yearly with all students and staff.  
-Catapult emergency notification system for all staff via phones, emails, and speakers on campus.
-All classrooms have 2-way radios.

Positive School Culture 
-Positive Behavior Intervention Support Framework used schoolwide.
-Weekly Social Emotional Support Curriculum with weekly lessons in all grade levels
-Positive tickets are given out in class, on the playground, in the library, on the bus, in the cafeteria, and in support classes with 25 weekly spin-the-prize wheel drawings.
-Quarterly grade-level incentive parties for students making good choices
-SBAC, iReady, Accelerated Reading Reward recesses for students based on academic growth
-Monthly bonus recess for students coming to school every day, even if tardy or leaving early. Everyday Counts!
- The counselor works with students on peer mediation and conflict resolution between students.
-Best Buddies Club for students to become friends with students with special needs.
-Fun Friday Reward Recess for students working hard all week/ showing responsibility
